Hello folks!
Welcome to Blognob, my little corner of the internet. Originating from the word hobnob, "to come or be together as friends," Blognob is a place to share ideas about political theory, nonviolence, international relations, and civil resistance. In the information age, we are bombarded with overwhelming amounts of content on a daily basis. The vast number of sources available to us in the form of books, articles, short videos, lecture series, and the 24-hour news cycle (just to name a few) provide a wealth of information, to be sure. However, for many of us who lead busy lives or struggle to get by paycheck to paycheck, there simply aren’t enough hours in a lifetime to consume and synthesize that much information. In starting this blog, it is my hope to bring awareness to topics near and dear to my heart, highlight key resources, and provide a starting point for your own research into the subject.
I’ve long believed that increasing civic engagement is critical for building a better tomorrow. The power that people hold when they unite has the potential to move mountains or, at the very least, spur those less passionate about an issue into action. It is with this in mind that I look forward to sharing my experience with you through Blognob and hope to inspire a new generation of community activists.
